Hi everyone,

It’s my first post on here and I think this is the best place to ask

How do you save/record clips of television? Lots of people upload clips to YouTube etc but I’ve no idea how.

I really need the first 10 mins of last night’s BBC London news at 6:30.
Don’t want to go into detail but it’s really important.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer

I'm in the process of uploading the bulletin for you. I'll PM you with details once it's complete.

There are different ways of doing it with TV and gaming capture cards etc. If I need to record something I am watching online I use screen recording software.

Lots of different ways. I have a USB DVB-T2 tuner using recording software called NextPVR. I also use free screen capture software called oCam, which I use with Kodi to record content I can't access directly using the Game recording function.

There are many different ways of capturing TV clips, whether it be through dedicated TV tuners or capture cards.

I use the Elgato Game Capture HD to record TV presentation and clips, and occasionally PS4 gameplay.

Have a look for a bit of software called get_iplayer. It allows you to download programmes from iplayer or record PVR style. It's command line based but once you get the hang of it it's fairly easy

I say look for it as there's a lot of different places to get it from and various forums/documentation about how to use it. Also it tends to need fixing every so often when the BBC change their feeds.
However this seems like a good resource for it:
