Potential merger of NBCUni and WarnerMedia?

Talks appear to be occuring which could in turn merge AT&T's WarnerMedia with Comcast's NBCUniversal. One of the major factors to this is possibly in part due to Disney, and their acquisition of 20th Century Fox. If this deal does go through, could we see a bigger titan than Disney? Could their streaming services merge into one service?

A lot of this is still speculation, but it would be a massive move in overtaking Disney. AT&T is in millions of debt, while Comcast is at a stable pace with their assets.

The same firm were saying much the same thing a year ago - just as the idea of Sony divesting their entertainment assets always crops up again and again.

I do believe that AT&T will likely be split from WarnerMedia. I don't think it's out of the question, it would feel odd if NBCUniversal owned one of their other competitors but it could easily be some weird analyst's wet dream.

To answer the question in the subtitle, "Could we see Sky being owned by WB AND NBC", the answer is no, as Sky is owned by Comcast rather than NBCUniversal.

Financial Analysts always seem to make crazy predictions that never come into fruition.

I would've thought Viacom makes more sense as a suitor for Warner than NBCUniversal's owner Comcast. Because of the CW network which Viacom and Warner co-own. It does actually make sense that AT&T might want to dispose of Warner though, as they have a lot of debt which the pandemic will have only made worse - won't surprise me if they're regretting buying Warner.
