Sorry - can't find the original thread where this was discussed, but the Astra 28.2 (i.e. same orbital position as Sky and Freesat) 8K test service has resumed.

** EDIT - looks to be Rec 709 not Rec 2020 - which is odd **

http://www.digitalbitrate.com/dtv.php?liste=1&live=69&lang=en&mux=11973

Bitrate is ~71Mbs, peaking at over 80Mbs?

It's 4320/50p HEVC/h.265 with Rec2020 gamut and HLG EOTF (i.e. it's SDR-compatible HDR)

The box was showing 52mbs

I think it depends on your platform and hardware specs. I get stuttery pictures and audio on VLC on my Mac using GigE connectivity from the tuner.

ffmpeg at the moment is reporting ~66-67Mbs as I stream and record the service via an IP feed of the transport stream.

Though interestingly the video now appears to be Rec 709 not Rec 2020, and SDR not HDR.

Just had another try I got an IP feed of it and VLC was able to read the video it is SDR strangely.

Yes - it's odd. The content seems to be identical in editorial terms (violin workshop etc.) but last time it was Rec 2020 HLG HDR , this time it's Rec 709 SDR.

Are there any 8K TVs on sale that don't support Rec 2020 HLG?

I wouldn't have thought so maybe its just a mistake on their side?
