This report is interesting for those doubting the move from Linear TV watching to on demand amongst the new generation of potential BBC Three viewers

The BBC One version didn't rate particularly well, it will have simply been a case of the BBC not recommissioning and them shopping it round. I know Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents has been shopped around but I don't know if it's been picked up.

True. The situation could be to the advantage of Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents with everyone assuming it's been axed with the demise of BBC3.

BBC3 is still online people.

No it's not. BBC 3 is a television channel. The online replacement is just some branding for a selection of VOD programmes. They're not even remotely similar.

And not online for those who either have data limits or poor internet speed.

As we approach BBC Three's switchover on Tuesday 16 February, today is the first step. We are rolling out our brand new visual identity across BBC Three - the TV channel, our place on BBC iPlayer, on bbc.co.uk, on apps and pretty much anywhere else new BBC Three will be, which will be pretty much everywhere.

I see Sky have changed their BBC iPlayer selection to also reflect the new logo . . .

So presumably we can expect to see this on screen from 7pm.

VMPhil called it first.

Looks like something Perfect Curve would come up with!

You read my mind. It's horribly reminiscent of that W1A episode.

Even more so than I thought!

It looks awful when placed beside ONE, TWO and FOUR as on Sky. I imagine it will look just as stupid on iPlayer. In fact, I've just gone and checked.

It is.

One | Two | III | Four

Perfectly fits in, not.

So if the old Three logo doesn't work going forward, does that mean neither do One, Two & Four?

I hope not. Imagine the line up

I II II! IV (or IIII if they're going to be really stupid)

Does this mean we're getting new idents for a couple of months before they're getting binned? Seems a bit stupid considering how taboo a BBC One rebrand is.

I suppose we're just going to get the stings that'll be used online, or whenever a BBC Three (or II!) programme is being 'showcased' on BBC One/Two?
