Do itv news London share the desk with the nationals or do they have a green screen section at the other side of the studio like they did before?
or is it the same desk?

We've seen a preview shot of a full height desk for the national news, so I'd hazard a guess there are two desks in the studio, the smaller one has been used for London and the Lunchtime News.

you'd have thought they would find a better quality version of the London backdrop

I think it's still a live shot.

I think it actually looks like a window!

To the untrained (except for Media Geeks) eye its very convincing as a window, looks good from a wide shot.

Indeed, the live shot still looks very analogue-ish.

The first programme in more than 20 years not to be called London Tonight - but I think the new look is great, and the set is pretty convincing.

I like the fact they're trying to make the background look like a real window - and, to the untrained eye, they could almost be back in their old studio by the river. Is there any reason why they can't get a higher-res version of the skyline, though - limitations of the camera on the South Bank, perhaps?

They probably won't take the risk of putting a higher quality (and more expensive!!) camera on the roof of a studio.

That can't be an excuse though? Is it something to do with the link between ITN and TLS?

Looks great when its dark, I love the 'reflection' - it's that which makes it look like a real window.
