It would appear Central's "About Us > Company History" is being re-written aswell (http://www2.itv.com/central/aboutus/?id=&type=&page=company_history) as it's currently blank.

You mean The Channel Formerly Known as Granada Plus? Still the same for the moment. Rumours abound that it will eventually be rebranded as ITV3 or ITV Gold, remain just that. It will probably happen eventually, but as ITV plc only owns half of Plus it needs the consent of the other party, Sky. And there's the question of what happens to Men and Motors then. I doubt ITV wants its name associated with that!

Well this is what it says on the ITVplc website, which makes me believe that Carlton Screen Advertising will have bitten the dust as well.
"ITV plc owns the market leading cinema screen advertising businesses in the UK and Republic of Ireland and has similar joint ventures in continental Europe and the United States"
http://production.investis.com/itv/
EDIT: Scratch that, by reading further I found this.
"ITV plc’s screen advertising business in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, Carlton Screen Advertising, is the market leader. In the UK, Carlton Screen Advertising has exclusive rights to sell advertising on over 2,200 cinema screens which account for 63% of UK cinema admissions. ITV plc also has a 50% interest in both Screenvision Europe and Screenvision US, joint ventures with Thomson S.A., which operate leading cinema screen advertising businesses in continental Europe and the United States respectively."
Whilst ITVplc OWN Carlton Screen Advertising, it looks as if they'll retain their name then.

It's a shame that 'Carlton Screen Advertising' is staying - it would be good promotion in the cinemas if it came up with the ITV logo before the adverts.

A random clip springs to mind...
"A bordeaux IS a claret!"
"Ah yes, but THEY wouldn't know that, would they?"

Their history has indeed been rewritten; Central now apparantly ceased to exist at the end of 1992, and it's been Carlton since 1993.
There's also much reference to 'Carlton Broadcasting' being mentioned on Central's page. They still haven't sorted out the old regional url of centraltv.co.uk either; it still links to Carlton's old (now defunct) corporate site.
This is in stark contrast to Westcountry, where Carlton has been surgically removed (indeed even onscreen today the only term I heard them mentioned was an ackowledgement that 'Carlton used to own Westcountry')

Interesting to see that the Carlton/LWT names still remain on the ancillary teletext services - only some pages have been replaced with an ITV1 logo...
Also, would it not be possible for them to change the channel ID name that you get on some TVs... (I think this is part of the Teletext signal)... it says "Carlton" during the week, LONDON WEEKEND TV at weekends and GMTV in early morning... they should change it to read ITV1 London and also the new names in the other regions (eg "ITV1 Westcountry")

Someone's not quite 'cleaned' the ITV London webpage at www2.itv.com/london as if you hover over the right hand side of the blue bar with LONDON on it you get a link to 'London Region Map' which has a nice CARLTON* logo in the bottom right....... Oops!

Of course they can change it, it's just a matter of being bothered to, which don't they seem to be (there is still 'HTV West' and 'Carlton' around for instance). I think it's more likely that they'll eventually change it to say just 'ITV1' as they did with DTT (incidentally, that led to the not ITV1 regions getting their station name on the descriptor; afaik before ITV1 every station was listed as 'ITV Channel 3' on DTT, but then when that was changed to 'ITV1', Scottish, Grampian and UTV all changed theirs to reflect the station name).
