She presented the shorter bulletin alone tonight (due to the football) and signed off mentioning she'd see us tomorrow for her final show.

Not many regional faces would get tributes from New York from Sting and Shaggy and from Ant & Dec.

Ian was more emotional about it than Pam was. A suitably shorter farewell was broadcast on Lookaround with highlights of the past 12 years.

Pam seemed to have very much distant herself from her departure I felt. She didn’t seem to be upset over it at all. Stating she was welling up when she wasn’t. It makes me wonder if she off to the BBC? Although I doubt it with all the cuts going on there. Just say hello when you see her out and about across the region!

Anyone manage to grab the Lookaround version? Any ideas on the new co-host?
Alfie Mulcahy and Ballyboy gave kudos

Maybe Helen Ford gets promoted?

Or the return of Kim Inglis of Jonathan Morrell lol

However there is a Northumberland based journalist role advertised on ITV Jobs where Helen Ford is based.

I think it will be someone like Amy Lea.

I’m glad they kept Tyne Tees & Lookaround separate tonight for Pam’s final show. On Tyne Tees, we had 15 minutes devoted to Pam’s goodbye but this may have been a little bit much for Border, where Pam’s been presenting only 12 years compared to being a regular face on Tyne Tees for 32 years.

It would be good if someone has recorded Lookaround (Tyne Tees was live tonight as predicted), I’d be interested to see how they covered it.

Border have posted this article which has a video report at the end.

Thought it was a lovingly put together goodbye, and Tony Blair's message was a real wow moment - literally as we saw Pam's reaction. As Simon O'Rourke said, she's a true 'Hall of Famer'.
