Come on guys, you should know the first rule of the Secret Forum... Wink

Is it the same as the first rule of Street Countdown?

Rob, I wonder if there is anything you could put in place in conjunction with Asa to allow people to pre-register with their TVF username to avoid the inevitable idiots who will think it's funny to sign up with a well established name, either to block the existing user from using it or to trash their reputation by trolling the new forum?

Obviously Asa couldn't just give you a list of usernames and email addresses due to GDPR but perhaps some mechanism similar to the one that was used to optionally create a Metropol account as part of TVF sign up could be put in place?

I have something in place to do pre-registration, which I'll be setting up today. Just need to make a few small adjustments, and set up the form. Smile

I think this is an excellent idea!! A new name, a lick of paint, a rebrand, same kind of ideas, with established posters and newbies - all coming together to discuss TV Presentation and the like - totally look forward to the new-look forum!! This is like us moving over to the new ITV franchisee holder, as was already suggested! Will be watching the live video this afternoon.

Thanks Joe.

So far, I'm pleased to announce that there have been 239 pre-registrations, which is an amazing total, and the bulk of them are established TV Forum members, which is brilliant.

I will be closing the pre-registration on Monday at 12pm UK time. This will then allow me to register all the accounts that have applied on the forum (which won't take too long). Anyone who misses out will have to wait until April 1st to register!

Fantastic news, Rob. Kudos to you for picking up the baton. It's great that so many established TVF members have signed up - I was really worried that we'd lose the essence of TVF in the transition. Fingers crossed it will just be a matter of a new home for us all.

That was a great live Rob, very informative. Just a shame about the trolls, there’s always a few.

How about if we say please? Wink

If we can't have a badge, then I notice you're doing the purple marker/tag/whatever it was called for the insiders, surely it wouldn't be any harder to set up for the founders to have, say, a red one?

Your choice of course whether to do the founders thing or not, I won't mention it again.

It's difficult to tell exactly what's going on without the live chat replay. However, from this section of video, you seem to wish a potentially deadly virus on people who you deem to be 'idiots'. How can we trust that all reasonable opinions will be heard when you seem more than willing to lash out at somebody who you see as an 'idiot'? What would be stopping you from banning somebody for saying something that you don't like, even if it's a valid point? And whilst you might backtrack a few seconds later on this occasion, what's to say that you won't backtrack the next time someone angers you?

It was purely in the heat of the moment. I know that I'm going to need a thick skin to run this site, and I am prepared to take the flack if the proverbial hits the fan. I apologise for that remark. It was a stupid thing to say considering I've had Covid myself.

Anyway...
