Seriously, if something like this happened in the UK in response to the results of an general election, or a referendum, the entire schedule would be cleared and rightfully so. That it's happening in another country doesn't really matter that much when you take into account it is the country that is often said to be one we have a "special relationship" with, as well as the "world's most powerful country" and one regarded as being a shining example of democracy.

Surely they will simulcast World. Bad if they don't.

CNN is switching back to their regular graphics, having used their election graphics for most of today.

Says it all about the shocking events today that the Georgia election being projected just then was basically (and correctly) treated as 'News In Brief' by CNN.

Not disagreeing that there shouldn’t have been a newsflash, but the fact that many of you bemoaning the lack of one are already watching the news suggests you may not need one...!

I don’t think the big strap saying ‘congress counts the vote’ is very appropriate anymore.

Of course nowadays many viewers will find out via mediums other than television, but I think many reading the news would expect it not to be ignored by the two biggest channels in the country. To not have a newsflash at least is crazy.
