It's staggering that Cambridge TV went from this output:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twwwBY1NKTY

...to "That's East Anglia".

That YouTube video is dated 2018, that's after Cambridge TV had transitioned from a local TV operator to an independent production and training company, which is still around today.

Also - I think the interior shots of the OB truck (Which look very impressive to those viewing at first glance) are from a doc they have made including the BBC recording Carols from Kings... (Rather than their own production)

That's TV has now rebranded 'That's Christmas'.

Which means it's using its gifted premium Freeview slot to bring viewers "Retro Disco Christmas Party" from 3pm until 5am, only to be interrupted for a pesky 10 minute local news slot at 6.

It's just an insult to the industry.

Adding insult to injury is this article about the change to That's TV:

https://www.atvtoday.co.uk/162118-tv/

Feel free to do a doubletake at
Quote:
That’s TV, the UK’s most popular music TV channel, has today rebranded its network to That’s Christmas for the 2020 festive season following its most successful ratings month ever.

I don't recall Ofcom awarding a licence for a PSB music channel?

It gets better (or worse)
Quote:
That’s Christmas will continue to bring audiences their fix of retro hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s alongside That’s TV’s award-winning local news and information service on weekdays .

Reminder: 10 minutes of local news each weeknight, now produced in regional hubs.

That's TV clearly going for the media outlets that will publish this with no qualms and no pushback.

According to reports, That's TV is getting 4 million viewers and on that basis can justifiably crow about success. But remember what's it's built on and how much licence fee money was siphoned off before the network flipped to music TV.

The "lowest standards possible and yet somehow managing to stay on the air" award. Sponsored by the "Flogging a dead horse" corporation.

One or all of the following: Worst local news coverage, worst employer, worst presentation, worst sound quality, worst broadcast standards, worst set, worst lighting, worst joke.... etc.

EDIT: Neil got there first... Crying or Very sad

I’ve lost track with the local TV networks. Is Made in TV still going, and what are the other networks like in comparison to That’s TV?

Yes and they're all up to the same (crap) standards. Made In simulcasts CBS Reality a lot (read most) of the time.

The channels formerly known as Made in... are still around, branded "(place name) local television".

Until last month, these local channels were operated by Local TV Ltd*, which in turn was owned by Made Television Ltd.

The legal entity that was Made Television Ltd was renamed Local TV Ltd in October 2020, while Local TV Ltd was renamed Made Television Ltd (Companies House has the info).

In any case, the ultimate parent company is Montgomery Media, the company owned by newspaper tycoon David Montgomery.

*Local TV Ltd is not to be confused with Local Television Ltd, which is a legal entity That's TV trades under.
