I am a bit confused with the article about this on Telly Mix, did the worker have COVID or not, as they say in the same article the test came back negative.

https://tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv/strictly-come-dancing/482811-strictly-come-dancing-studio-given-deep-clean-after-virus-scare.html

"The BBC said the worker in question has since "had an official NHS test that’s come back negative."

Nevertheless, as a precaution the studio - which is due to welcome the professional dancers to pre-record their group routines - has been given a deep clean.

Five other workers were also isolated but they too returned negative test results."

I'm guessing The Sun had their wires crossed.

It would appear that the crew had been having regular private Covid tests, one of which has come back positive. For some recent despite it being well known that false negatives can occur the BBC has allowed the individual who tested back to work and are not requiring the mandated 10 days of self isolation. If the BBC are not going to trust their own tests when one comes back positive there is no point in doing them as the chances of the BBC test being a false positive is tiny compared to the NHS test being a false negative.

Once again Strictly has a trailer that uses a circular theme creating an identity better than BBC One has had in years:

Yes, got all excited by that when I saw it the other day then realised what it was. Reminds me of the animated January idents they had a few years back.

I totally agree. I still don’t understand why there isn’t more effort for the branding of a channel these days. Thank goodness for BBC Two!

Just pondering about how the Strictly cast is chosen. Everyone complains each year of celebs being too minor - "Never heard of them!" etc.
I was wondering, do they deliberately choose slightly more obscure people because it keeps costs down and it's a formula that almost works better if they're not as well known? It just feels like there'd be so many more high profile people chomping at the bit to appear for the publicity it provides.

If you can be recognised from the other end of town you can probably earn more money for the job, these people don't work for nothing after all. If you're slightly more obscure you're cheaper to hire. Strictly would look radically different if it was full of A-List celebrities, which is why its full of other (cheaper) people instead who don't charge a fortune just to get out of bed in the morning.

And they always tick all the boxes so regardless of your age or interests, there will be someone there for you

There will generally be someone from the world of music, of sport, of politics, someone from the soaps, people from either daytime tv, the radio, or the BBC Family so ensure promotion across those areas, someone to get the kids in like the youtubers or someone from CBBC, some old favourite actors or presenters for the oldies, someone comical who is likely to be a John Sargent figure....

Surprising absolutely no-one, there's no Blackpool special this year...

Watching the Movie Week compilation show, I note some clips are being credited on screen to "BBC Studios / Strictly Come Dancing" which seems a bit odd.
