Omg. Haven't watched Granada Reports for a while but sure I've seen him on there relatively recently when channel hopping? I suspect it will be an emotional show tonight, particularly if Lucy is on?
I guess the nearest we have had to this recently is when we lost the lovely Diane from NWT.
Wow. That’s a shock. Horrible for the North West who had just as much a shock with the death of Dianne Oxberry.
Lucy and Tony were a great partnership which Granada Reports lacked a long lasting partnership for very many years. Heartbreaking that this has come to a sudden tragic end.
How shocking and sad. I thought his deadpan sense of humour worked really well alongside Lucy for all those years. I think when North West Tonight initially went double headed, it made you realise how well Tony and Lucy's on-screen partnership worked in comparison.
Really shocking and sad news. Normally quite immune to celebrity deaths nowadays but that really caught me off guard and took me by surprise.
Never underestimate how important regional presenters were - and him and Lucy made what at first was quite often an awkward partnership really work over the years and Tony Morris had a way of presenting the news in a way which didn't make you feel like you were being lectured by a school teacher.

Yes, I remember the criticism over the years of a lack of chemistry between the two of them, but I can't say I ever thought that myself. To me they always seemed to like each other on screen.
It is with a broken heart I retweet this. We will have a very special @GranadaReports tonight in tribute to our lovely friend and colleague. My thoughts are with his family and all who loved him x https://t.co/TlXDWo32jG
Not sure when Tony was last on screen. I’m told staff knew a while ago and that Tony was heavily involved in the preparation of the special programme which will now air tonight
