Looks a bit like they searched the music library for some key words: 'Goodbye', 'Bye', 'Over', 'Final', 'End', 'Ending' and pulled the results into a playlist, then picked out a few more songs manually like "My Way"... The final 3 look specially picked though.
The final song on The Hits back in 2008 was Thank You For The Music too (just before it became 4Music)
i'm surprised they dug up Frank Sinatra .... when was the last time he was ever played on their channels? (I'm guessing at least VH1 in the 90s), not sure in regards of MTV Classic
Frank Sinatra’s version of “Silent Night” is played on MTV Xmas every year.
Apart from that one every year but My Way let alone probably others have never aired, but will turn up elsewhere
I don't think so.. I think there will be no replacement for these channels in the UK, although I might be wrong
Country Music is huge in the UK right now, and i don't mean old country. you only have to see the sell out shows happening at the O2 and other major arenas over here. I see many comments about people wanting CMT back on our screens. I agree it would be brilliant

It obviously wasn't big enough over here though to have stopped Total Country closing, or Keep It Country diversifying and rebranding.
Also, CMT's schedule is more like that of MTV these days, with little in the way of country music.
I'm not sure if MTV, the Box or another channel, could perhaps have an hour long country slot, say 14:00 - 15:00 each day. Just an idea. Test the water as it were.
It's true that country music is enjoying increased popularity in the UK and there are now several radio station devoted to it, but I don't think there is enough demand for a music TV channel. Total Country did not rate well and was axed within a year. Keep it Country was never truly a country music channel but even so has now branched out in to other directions.
In the USA CMT is full of sitcoms and films with music limited to late night/early morning slots.
Based on your post tmf9, would my idea, that a channel like MTV or The Box, be better having a daily one hour country slot, as opposed to having a full country music channel?

I wouldn't be surprised if MTV/The Box do a country chart than do a dedicated hour on country music, since the closure of Rocks/Club MTV it seems to be thats the focus (saying that has MTV Base/MTV Music changed that much since the closures or has it just been the same?)
Its crazy to think sky uk has ditched club mtv. I remember mtv extra when i first got sky digital with dance on a night!! 20 years ago....
Im still watching club mtv via DVB-S Thor 0.8w in UK with small 60cm dish.
Quite a good mix with same graphics with uk and international dance hits even russian dance songs!

Sky didn't ditch it, MTV closed it down.
Sky's actions may have had a say in the closure of Club MTV and the other channels, given that the MTV channels are subscription channels, but at the end of the day, it was MTV who decided to close it down, most likely because of falling viewing figures and advertising revenues, and together with MTV Rocks and MTV OMG, was closed down on all platforms in the UK, not just Sky.
It is a pity VH1 Europe (or whatever it is to become) isn't FTA and likely never will be. I enjoy MTV Germany (which is FTA) as it does show a lot more varied music selections during the day and it also helps that the majority of the videos are uncut, as are episodes of popular shows like Catfish or Just Tattoo Of Us.
