Releases June 26.

featuring a brief glimpse of Glasgow's SSE Hydro Arena as the venue. Probably not a bad choice, if the UK were ever to win Smile

Get ready to Open Up on 18, 20 and 22 May 2021. See you in Rotterdam!

Wonder if they'll revisit the slogan and artwork however keep the existing set design? Hotel prices already through the roof so won't be going even to just soak up the atmosphere of Rotterdam on the night

New Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl announces changes to the rules for 2021, facilitating a contest of any sort in case of difficulties and also enabling any number of backing singers to perform on the background track in addition to or replacing the in person staged backing component of the act .

So ESC moves ever nearer Melodifestivalen... It was inevitable as in recent years the rules have been heavily relaxed to allow processed vocals (like on Norway's entry a couple of years ago) to be pre-recorded.

Good that they have added a lead vocal melody exception. (So ghost leads will still have to be live)

Also, Junior Eurovision has had the same backing vocals thing going for a long while now.

Has anyone posted this genuinely really good 3 part behind the scenes doc on the 2019 contest that the host broadcaster recently put up with English subtitles. Amazing how many hurdles they went through especially in the weeks immediately before. You can see they had a pretty sizeable Israeli team working on it too, it wasn't just the Swedes.

Get your skates on, and pirate outfits also; as this week's Eurovision Again is from Belgrade 2008.

The end of this contest really was a masterclass in how not to shoot fireworks. They look bloody awful. All of the inserts that they left to the local broadcaster were really bad.

I've never really liked this contest. I didn't like the opening, the hosts, their script, I didn't like the concept of the postcards (although a lot of people seemed to enjoy them), I didn't think the stage was that great and I really hated the winner. I think this is the one where Terry's sour comments really stuck out and made the night less enjoyable too. Some good songs at least though!

All of the direction and camera coverage inside the arena was handled by the Swedish (with Serbian heritage) director Sven Stojanovic, who had directed a number of ESCs and Melodifestivalens by this point. The production facilities were hired in (and probably Swedish)

The OB inserts from the city square and the fireworks were handled by the host broadcaster using their existing, SD, facilities.

I know, and it looked really bad.
