I wonder how Alex’s violin and Owain’s drums would sound together 🤔

They’ve just shown Owain’s video on breakfast, and they interviewed him about the launch of Owain’s Big House Band

Kylie Pentelow namechecked Alex in the upcoming National Weather on this evening's ITV News. Guess it's just a case of ITV West Country crew looking out for each other as the weather presenters wouldn't normally get a name check on the National News beforehand.

This will interest many although it has been on before in 2014.

Hurricanes and Heatwaves - The Highs and Lows of British Weather. Series 13, episode 6.
Documentary focusing on the evolution of the weather forecast, from print via radio to TV and beyond, featuring an insight into how the Met Office and the BBC have always used the latest technology to bring the holy grail of accurate forecasting that much closer. Yet, as hand-drawn maps have been replaced by weather apps, the bigger drama of global warming has been playing itself out, as if to prove that people were right all along to obsess about the weather.

Interesting. Was that made before the Met Office contract was lost to Meteogroup?

I note Owain is now presenting on BBC Five Live with Helen Skelton-Myler on Sunday afternoons now.

There’s a definite attempt to raise his profile going on. Not that that’s a bad thing consider he seems a decent fella. I could see him on something like The One Show.

I agree, the amount of times they harked back to the drumming he did, and kept reheating it in different ways showed he made good TV

When he moved from Leeds to Salford I did think that was a good move, as as well as being promoted to number 1 weather presenter on NWT (compared to about 3rd on Look North) you are also no more than two steps away from making an odd appearance on national output they do from Salford.

I could easily see him doing either the weather or light features on Breakfast

Or in 2032 the next series of Strictly?

I'd definitely see Owain being a potential successor for Carol should she ever decide to move on. Or a suitable stand in, even more so as he can appear in the studio given that's already his territory.
