I wonder if the offending comment will be edited out of the BBC Parliament repeats at 1930 & 2300. They probably will and should.

She's sailed very close to the wind I have to say. It'll be down to a judge and jury to decide if the MET Police do decide to investigate.
Either way, the Ofcom broadcast code looks to have been broken so the BBC would probably be best reporting themselves to the regulator to save face and see what happens.
Could she/they not have been referencing internal party data, which will be telling them based on canvassing which postal voters have/haven’t voted. It is quite normal within campaigns to know which of your postal voting supporters have cast their ballots.
Anyway, the Sky studio looks mind blowing. The way the glass box set up should always have looked. Just stunning.

Regarding today’s Politics Live programme, the BBC does not believe it, or its political editor, has breached electoral law.

Yes, but it's the broadcasting of that data that is the offence. Another analogy is knowingly handling stolen goods

Watching this makes one think last few years have just been a bad dream and this is how Sky News looks after the big move to the new building.

You beat me to it. I don't understand, I assumed they are not even opened until at least 7am on Polling Day!!??
And what an extraordinary thing to say on a broadcast before 22:00hrs tomorrow!
They're opened in the presence of party representatives at a set time long before iirc. It was the opening of them in 2015 which showed that the polls were wrong. Pretty silly in this day and age to pretend that the representatives don't keep a tally and report to HQ.
Since last weekend if you follow the right insiders it's been said that early Labour returns in the marginals have been noticebly down on 2017. Kevin Maguire of The Mirror got into similar trouble at the Peterborough by election this year when he said Labour would win on the postal votes. He was correct.
I am very surprised that postal votes are even opened before the official count takes place after the polls close tomorrow night.

Very interesting!
Myself and Mrs MM's postal forms are still safely sealed up on the dining room table, to be delivered to the polling station tomorrow!!

By comparison, Katya Adler for example has been brilliant and the likes of Emily Maitlis & Emma Barnett have shone.
Naive beyond words. You might as well be comparing the jobs of an architect to a site labourer. Not even remotely similar jobs.

I don’t know about that. Their newstech twitter account seemed to allure that they were doing it again, they tagged their partner which provided the LiveU’s and hundreds of sim cards. I asked something about them and they replied to the extent one SIM card for every network in every device. So they probably will have at least 100 live counts.
No discussion of voting results or direction is permitted before the polls close at 22:00hrs on polling day. I know in the US there is discussion in the time zones where polling has closed, while still open further west?
Yeah there are no laws like that in the US - if that were the case the broadcast wouldn’t start until 12 AM (or later). I imagine if the US tried passing that law courts would strike it down as a freedom of speech issue.
Apparently a breach of The Representation of the People Act 1983.

Thanks the top results for me just came from partisan tabloids.
The quality of that AR makes you wonder why the old VR studio was so horrific. Full marks to them for going all out.
Very pleased they’ve also ditched the idea of live cams at every count. Gimmicky and made 2017 unwatchable.

So could someone explain to me what Laura K did wrong?
