I’m not sure why the building the region is in has anything to do with how well a birthday programme can be done?

The point was that the Tyne Tees celebrations were not to the same extent as the celebrations of Yorkshire's 50th anniversary last year, which were on a much bigger scale, which is a direct result of the building they are located in.

Yorkshire dedicated the whole programme to the anniversary, from various locations around the site, whereas Tyne Tees only dedicated a portion of the programme to the anniversary, from the studio.

Yorkshire are located on a much bigger site, with more places to visit and film in (including the entrance which had the YTV flag flying above it, the Emmerdale set, dressing rooms, archive building and the external area where they had various guests), which Tyne Tees would not have been able to do from their location.

I'll get my head bitten off here perhaps deservedly but arguably Yorkshire just had more to celebrate than Tyne Tees.

Also the fact that Yorkshire’s birthday was a handy way to fill a quiet week in August. Tyne Tees’s was on the day of the big Brexit vote.

As I recall the multiple locations actually hinded the Yorkshire programme and it was a bit of car crash technically

This has surprised me somewhat and I'm not sure how true it can be.

Looking at your examples, the ERCMAC webpage looks like it was built many moons ago, and refers to support by 'Anglia Television' (along with an @angliatv.co.uk email address!) and a Bafta nomination for a film they produced 'this year'. The short film referenced was nominated in 1999! I would therefore guess that this is a very old webpage and wouldn't think that there is any such company based at Anglia House.

Likewise, the British Film Council page posted is for a production from 2003, with Anglia House indeed referenced as the address for a company called ScreenEast. Their current website looks fairly modern (albeit using a screencap from Sky News circa-2003 on the homepage!), but lists an address in Chesterfield as the contact address now, so again they may have been at Anglia House many years ago, but aren't now.

The White Label Media website, however, is more interesting, as they are clearly an active operation and do list Anglia House as their address (both on their website and in their latest set of accounts submitted to Companies House). They also state that they are 'BBC and ITV approved suppliers of production resources'.

However, the Anglia House site is full of oddities so I'm not sure it's as clear that they rent space in Anglia House as it seems. In the 1980s/1990s, on the Anglia Square site Anglia TV occupied three buildings, Anglia Square, Townshend House, and the Old Post Office. There are upper level walkways still between Anglia House and Townshend House, Townshend House and the Old Post Office, and a completely out of keeping structure that fills the gap between the frontages of Anglia House and the Old Post Office with meeting rooms and offices. Until recently the Old Post Office was an Estate agent, and as mentioned before Townshend House has been rentable office space for years (although there's still a big satellite dish out front which is presumably for ITV!). I therefore wonder if the ITV connection or if they occupy a bit of space that connects on or into Anglia House means they've used the address for telly heritage? The only clear entrance to Anglia House is the main ITV entrance and goes almost directly into the newsroom, so unless there's another entrance by the loading bay or something (which would seem slightly strange) I think ITV remain the sole occupants of Anglia House. Irrespective of whether they are or not, it's still a smaller space than Yorkshire have etc, but it would put them in a relatively unique position of being in their original building and not in shared offices etc?

Alternatively, you might have a much better knowledge of the whole thing than me and I could be entirely wrong!

Doubt it, in the same way as Westcountry's 25th and LWT's 40th.

These are among a number of regions which probably won't ever see their anniversaries marked again, for a number of reasons:
- Carlton and LWT - don't exist anymore, regional news now produced by ITN
- Westcountry Television - doesn't exist anymore, regional news now broadcast from what was HTV West
- Border Television - regional news now broadcast from Tyne Tees, although they might mark anniversaries in the Border Scottish region, making use of the extra regional opts.

The only anniversaries which are likely to celebrated in these regions going forward will probably be of the launch of the ITV service in that region (especially where there's been more than one company over the years), rather than anniversaries of the current licence holder.

A couple or so years ago, ITV News West Country ("west" version only, i.e. the former Westward/TSW/Westcountry region) did a feature marking the something anniversary of Gus Honeybun (the puppet rabbit that featured in the "birthdays" slot for many years, spanning both Westward and TSW eras).

Meanwhile, it was just a standard news day on the "east" (ex-HTV) version of the programme that same evening.

So, these sorts of things still being acknowledged clearly isn't something that is inherently ruled-out.

AFAIK they didn't mark the 25th anniversary of Westcountry Television last year, which isn't much of a surprise.

2021 will mark the 60th anniversary of Westward Television, Gus Honeybun and the launch of ITV in the South West, so will be interesting to see if that gets marked.

They did a 3-4 min section with archives etc on Lookaround in 2009 which marked them moving to a "new home" (i.e downsized office in Carlisle). In 2011 they did a 3ish min piece on the anniversary. I guess Border might struggle for 30 min show! .

Pam Royle tweeted to someone mentioning about Border being 60 in 2021 if they'd do something similar and she said something like clocks ticking in a positive way.
