The OP is referring to how the CBS 4 logo is presented in the "CBS 4 This Morning" logo, which in itself is a reference to the national CBS This Morning open as seen in this November 2017 edition

Yeah, that's not a mistake. About a year ago, KCNC revamped the morning news to try to align it more closely with the national brand. They also do a local version of the Eyeopener at 6am, though it's usually not edited nearly as slickly as the national one is.

At night, they slap the Colorado flag over everything.

Look how the local logo is screed up and partly cut off.
