I don't recall her standing in for Fern at all.
I'm sure she did around Christmas time one year, maybe the year before Fern left because IIRC it was after that when there was speculation she would join full time.

She did on a Christmas edition with Phil in 2008 with the red wallpaper.

I think she did a few days in 2009 when Fern had announced she was leaving.

I remember Holly covering for Fern as well and she did quite well, she must have impressed the bosses as she got the main job later on.

I think Davina was also in the running as well but they wanted to make the show more young skewing and Holly helped in that regard.

Rylan and Emma Willis presenting this morning, I think they’re doing a great job!

Still at the South Bank until April 13th. New studio launches on the 16th when Phil and Holly return from their break.

If only there was something in this topic's description to tell people when This Morning is moving and what studio it is moving to in an attempt to save people from asking... Wink

Although perhaps they are trolling us and actually they move in three months ago and the fake screens are so good we've not been able to tell the difference.

Rylan and Emma were decent, I assume that due to Emma's other work commitments, she hasn't been approached to do more often.

It's interesting that the producers do like to mix up the cover presenters when Holly, Phil, Eamonn and Ruth are off.

Rylan & Emma work well together, but Emma has a weakness when it comes to interviews. She doesn't seem to take the brief in and often seems confused. The other day with Alan Carr was an example - he was plugging his new show and she seemed confused about which show it was.

Of course, you could say that's the result of a poor brief but I first noticed it years ago in this interview, around the 5:10 mark when they talk about bringing the show back on TV, then Emma randomly says "and Christmas Specials?" as if they haven't just spent 30 seconds talking about it coming back to TV. It's almost like someone's written the words "Christmas Specials" on her notes and she's not sure what it means but says it anyway.
