It would be better as a TV centre rather than just named after what it was.

It is still will be a Television Centre, particularly, in the near future, for ITV.

"Live from Television Centre in London, this is Good Morning Britain"?

The developments look brilliant. I'm surprised that the Televisions Centre logo with the circular 'O' hasn't been used within the branding of the building. Were they not allowed to replace the 1997 'Television Centre' wording in Gills Sans?

Here it is earlier tonight. You can just about see the LED lights on the floor in front of TC1, they cycle through different colours.

With it lit up, you can really see the shading where the BBC blocks used to be

If you look extra carefully you can see the original 1960s BBC TELEVISION CENTRE lettering too.

Oddly enough it's the 1994 signage which has made the most notable impression, even though it was up for the shortest time.

It's a shame they haven't replaced the signage with something like the original 60s lettering. It would have suited the retro look they've gone for in, rather than leaving the Gill Sans one, just because it happened to be there.

I wonder if this will still be a thing.

That, but along the wall of TC1 would look excellent.

Plans have probably changed though, considering that render has the old blue glass which was changed to red.

I think they left the Gill Sans signage because it reminds people of what the building used to be.

They probably chose to keep it, considering that they were allowed to take down the "BBC" blocks.

I wonder if that's the original sign they were planning on putting there (does it still exist in storage for 24 years?) or a recreation?

So, can you now walk in off Wood Lane and walk around the Helios courtyard and other public access parts of the outside?

Or is it still wooden hording city for a few months yet?

Yep, you can now walk in and do a loop of the doughnut courtyard. Photos from Sunday.

As if the original sign would be that big or sturdy enough!

I'd imagine the idea behind those letters were to create a solid barrier against terrorist vehicles.
