We’ll see - when the BBC, ITV and C5 are all on it, along with Amazon Prime and Netflix, as well as 4K content on iTunes from every distributor bar Disney for the price of HD - if he still stands by that misguided sentiment.
The BBC wasn't listed in that line-up. They have an app but it doesn't mean that they will be listed in the TV app itself. For instance, SVT was listed (already has an app too) as has 7/9/10 in Australia.

C4 - like the BBC - is a PSB. If being on Apple TV costs C4 significant amounts of money in app development I can see why they would find it difficult to justify. AIUI - discussing with people who know - the current Apple TV streaming stats mean it's very much a minor-player compared to Smart TV, Laptop, Tablet and Phone.
That said - if developing an app for Apple TV triggered C4 into encoding content for All4 at higher quality I'm all for it (see what I did there?) Currently there are lots of shows I'd love to watch that aren't available on the Sky version of All4 (which can only carry stuff broadcast on a linear channel apparently), and are All4 app/web only - but the quality of these encodes is awful.

On the new UK Apple TV website under the TV App section, Doctor Foster and another show is listed with the BBC iPlayer app logo in the scrolling carousel of content.

Really? I stand corrected then.... What's the link?
I noticed in the Keynote that the photo used for the Sky News tile was of the Sunrise presenter line-up from around 2010, complete with the old Sunrise logo (from the glossy graphics between 2010-2015 era) behind - there were something like 5 people in the photo and I think only 2 of them remain (Eamonn Holmes, Charlotte Hawkins and Lucy Veresamy who have all oddly ended up on ITV Breakfast at some point)!
According to this review, YouTube's 4K content is encoded in VP9 which is a format Apple doesn't support. Apparently it also runs in HDR all the time which makes HD content look worse than usual.
It also looks like the ATV 4K doesn't support HLG - so iPlayer UHD HLG stuff is unlikely to be supported (unless the BBC also does an HDR 10 version of HDR content)
