Pranksters on YouTube hit a new low once again. There are limits to pranking - yet it's been supplanted by their insatiable need to gain ad revenue and views.
They haven't achieved much - it only highlights how the reputation of prank channels on YouTube is decreasing. I suspect the likes of Pyrocynical and NFKRZ will be covering this soon...

Okay so I get they're smart enough to con their way inside the building but if their ultimate goal was live TV why weren't they looking at the schedule?
Have these people been arrested? If they haven't as their names and faces are now viral it gives me the slightest of inkling that it could have been "condoned".

To be fair to them, they were let in by security - that's the big issue. Having visited NBH, albeit with a friend who works their, I was amazed that anyone, including freelancers at the lowest level with their 'BBC Pass' can literally check in any guests they want. Not only that, regardless of what department they work in, their pass gives them free reign of the building. I was surprised to be walking across the back of the newsroom peering in and with full access into the various galleries when the person I was with had nothing to do with TV or News.

How have we got this far - on a pres forum - without anyone pointing out that the slates for the YouTube clips are plastered with the (semi-old) BBC One logo when it wasn't even BBC One air they were invading?
1, 6, and 10 aren't difficult numbers to remember unless you're thick as two short planks!

A low level public order offence (Section 5, behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress) if you stretched it.
Maybe an aggravated trespass under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 as their behaviour has prevented people lawfully on the land going about their lawful activities, however they were let in so weren't trespassers.
I assume there's signage saying only those authorised are allowed in studios, that may be enough to prove a trespass!
It may have just been a prank, but I can't imagine it was a particularly enjoyable experience for anyone in the studio at the time - must have felt rather threatened to have a group of people with cameras charge into their place of work, even if they didn't cause any actual damage or anything like that. Based on the videos they weren't caught at the time - is there anything they can actually be punished for legally here though?

What actually happened on air? Did the News channel go to a recorded programme at 7:30 after the weather? Rachel Schofield's seen walking off set so I can't imagine they were in a position to cut back to E after the weather.
I doubt they'd cut back to studio E until security were there, surely, in case they reappeared?

They all look like absolute idiots - and they should all be locked up - the BBC's security needs to be tighter, though, definately!
