In OKC i can see most of the station will have this tech soon. They all chase tornadoes with their choppers and in the case of tornado chasing this new technology will actually save people lives. Often the chopper pilot uses their knowledge of the roads but with this tech the roads are overlayed and the viewer can see where the tornado is headed and where its been. I've watched coverage where the chopper is following the tornado path and is destroying houses and street signs and this can helps direct first responders, as most EMOs have tv monitors to help find out whats happening and direct resources. This is a great innovation in tv chopper coverage.

Aside from camera innovations and signal boosts, etc. This is the biggest innovation in my opinion in Helicopter broadcasting...for the viewer.
