So, sorry a Sky customer here, could somebody just state what channels BT Sport now have?

I can only name...

-BT Sport 1
-BT Sport 2
-BT Sport ESPN
-BT Sport Europe
-BT Sport 1HD
-BT Sport 2HD
-BT Sport ESPN HD
-BT Sport Europe HD
-BTSE

Please could somebody just correct me, thanks.

Finally, one question, is it worth upgrading to BT Sport?

One thing I don't get is the absolute pig-headedness BT shows towards customers with Virgin Media / other cable. According to their website, there are only three ways to get BT Sport: Sky, BTTV and app/web. This is completely disengenuous and borders on misleading. Anyone with an ounce of sense will know that you can get BTS through VM (as a free extra with the XL pack too!) but take the information on BTSport.co.uk at face value, and you could be misled.

They don't mention their availablity in Ireland either. Not so much as a "Live in Ireland? Go to www.setanta.com to subscribe" or such like, though they are on every major pay-TV platform here. Going by the website you'd swear they only broadcast to the UK,

They've got some deals in place which expire on the 18th June - which is rather annoying for people like myself waiting for fibre broadband to arrive - it should be with us in time for the season, but won't be here in time for these deals, though I might ring them next week and see what deals I can get.

I wouldn't worry too much - there were some identical deals on offer a few weeks ago, they tend to come around fairly regularly.

Couldn't see anyone mention that BT are launching 4K coverage with a new YouView+ box for Infinity customers. They've beaten Sky with this.

UHD, not 4K. It's a bit shy of being the cinematic 4K resolution, though not far off.

I believe there's a handful of boxes in the wild already, and even some looped content for them to watch - though I've yet to see any of it.

It doesn't help that TV manufacturers have conflated the two terms.

I suspect it is just the case that the exact deal with Virgin hasn't been confirmed yet. They are usually last to the party and I think BT have to sell through Virgin on cable while on Sky and BT they sell the product themselves.

Broadcast Now (Subs) adding to the story with a paragraph indicating BT are to shortly offer the Sky Sports channels (1,2 and5*) on V+ and YouView in HD in addition to SD. (* V+ only).

I thought V+ was being phased out. Not too much appeal now surely for Sky Sports 5 unless you really want La Liga. Many of the key European fixtures seem to be simulcast on Sky Sports 1 anyway.
