Because nobody knows what the actual time of launch is. Regarding the weather though and I do wish they'd stick to CSO - looks awful on Granda Reports now they do it on a plasma that's too small to frame properly.
Glad though that ITV is finally updating their sets though it would be nice to see a bit of individuality back in regional news - keep the generic look but let each region have their own interpretation of it.

Does anyone know if anymore photos of the new set have been posted anywhere? The bloke who works there has blocked me on Twitter

As was kind of mentioned, Jon Mitchell had the usual CSO on Friday, so the studio must be in some sort of advanced stage that they can sling up a green screen again
I would hope Jon had enough clout to not accept a rubbish plasma set up

Looks like another week in the Newsroom then? I'm sure it'll all be worth the wait
I wouldn't have thought they would have launched a new look if Christine is on holiday for half term so I'm not surprised they are waiting until next week.
Hopefully the extra time will allow them to realise that the narrow screens will look awful, particularly on the wider two shot, which Wales at Six doesn't have an issue with as they are single headed.

Apparently there are still some slight adjustments to be made and no date has been set

They might realise that but they're not going to get the opportunity to change them. As someone else said this set has obviously been signed off for all the regions and they've not seen the need to adapt it following the implementation in Wales. Or perhaps they tried teal or white panels on the background during the design postage and felt that looked worse than the black.
At first I thought monitors full height and they are just leaving the black bars on screen but now I just realized they are probably just 60" screens with black casings above and below it. I was really hoping they'd could have gone the route that some of the NBC O&O stations have gone here in the US.
