Coverage will kick off at 9pm in a new specially created studio at Sky News’ Osterley studio. Here Adam Boulton will anchor with Faisal Islam and polling expert Michael Thrasher, interpreting the results as they are announced giving viewers at home the latest on what this means for the future leadership of the UK.

I'm glad they're building a proper studio this time - when they've presented on location and from the regular studio in the past, it's just looked like they can't be bothered.

Mind you, the fact that they won't be using it past 5am suggests it might not be that good...

Who said that?!

Live at five with Jeremy
Sarah Jane Mee presenting from 9pm to 12am tonight. She also worked from 9am till 12 pm earlier today. I believe she also worked a double shift on Sunday. From memory it was 10am-2pm and 7pm-12am. This is something I cant remember seeing before. They are short presenters at the moment with presenters on maternity leave, holiday and Andrew Wilson on location.

I see Sky news has a new Decision time Promo, its kinda crap... its really crap. At least the Scot Ref or budget made sense, but this is pointless.

It's about promises made during elections, but you can't please everyone.

I believe the press release said Dermot would be presenting 'from Westminster' from 5am.

I'm glad Sky are going for a purpose-built set though - they had one in 2005 which was in the new Osterley building before the October relaunch, IIRC. That set was quite small and cramped though!

That's true, but they'll be regularly cueing back over to Adam/Faisal in Osterley as well.

Ah, ok. That sounds more promising.

My favourite Sky News election studio was 1997 (a year that all the broadcasters really pulled the stops out). Laurie Mayer and Kay Burley at a round desk in front of a mini video wall, if I recall, Adam Boulton with panelists at a big question mark-shaped desk, and Martin Stanford in a virtual studio.

Thanks. That's also reminded me of Sky's disappointing virtual studio in 2001 and the utterly pointless ITN News Channel election programme that year.

A better non cringeworthy song would have been better.

This was Genies!

I think the point was meant to be that politicians' promises often MAKE people cringe, but anyway...

Does the studio they used for 5 News still exist?

Kay was presenting from the Westminster studio this afternoon.

It all feels very low key at the moment. In previous years they've gone election nuts.
