Almost 7,500 watching the live YouTube stream of Sky News at the moment.

Must be the equivalent of almost 10 per cent of the audience on UK TV this time of day?

There is probably a combined 6m watching BBC One & ITV at 5pm (not to mention all the other channels). 10% more like 600,000 at least.

I should have been clearer - I meant 10% of Sky News' UK TV audience in the late afternoon/early evening, although 10% may still be a bit on the high side.

About a week ago, actually - but yes, they're back.

I really don´t like this "new" approach when it comes to election promos!

Would you care to tell us why?

I watched the trail on Sky News this morning. It's clear to the point who it's targeting, which is first time voters.

It's clear that they're targeting first time voters, and to an extent, voters who may feel they have been marginalise - and it's a good direction to go in, in my opinion, given how important these voters are going to be in the next election (although that's a discussion for another forum!)

On a TV pres note - use of Sky font, rather than the Sky News font - interesting?

I wonder when they'll begin the full-on election coverage? In recent years, as soon as the election has been called, they go into election mode with mega graphics and schedule changes. As we are now on fixed-term governments, I reckon Sky and the BBC will have a lot more power to "call" the start of the campaign as and when it suits them (maybe even January 5th?).

As well as the use of the corporate Sky font on that trailer, the last bit also possibly implies a new overall design (for election coverage at least).

I think you somewhat overestimate our "pull"! Very Happy

I very much doubt this. For one the audience would be sick of 'election mode' with months to go. Secondly I presume the PM still has to go to the palace to request Parliament to be dissolved (regardless of fixed terms). That moment will herald the start of the election campaign and any change in output.
