What thread would we use for the majority of issues which cover both the SD and HD channels?
As it is going to be a major milestone for Sky when Sky News HD launches, it seems to make sense to make a brand new thread for this, and also to keep discussion with Sky News and Sky News HD separate, as to not be drowned by 1000 of Non-HD Viewers asking why they can't see the Side bar.

If you'd read the announcement at the top of the page, Asa has this under control. This way will just be confusing.

If you're comment is about the HD Titles or graphics or the "Premium Panels", then the comments go here, and if it is about the studio, or something which is not HD specific, then it goes in the other thread.
And remember this thread isn't just for the HD Election programme, it is for the HD Channel going forward.

Talk about bureaucratic! Why cant we just have one thread?! I cant see the HD thread lasting very long as Sky News SD/HD will be more or less the same! It fits well under one thread I think.

Pointless having two threads. The HD version is really not going to be that different. Just slightly different graphics and improved picture quality - big deal.

From the Sky News Weather blog:
Incase you hadn't been watching, we go high definition at 9pm. And the building is counting down to the necessary transfer.
The question is... how many men can a weather office hold? Currently, two from facilities, two from lighting, three from the props department, one technical director, two from broadcast computing, and one weather presenter!
We have just taken away our old standard definition camera and monitors in our weather studio and have derobed an enormous plasma screen - our new background for all our red button and sports recordings. But it's causing a few last minute challenges with light reflections... hence a small crowd holding up a very large black curtain.
The fulfillment of a promise of beautifully crisp, clean weather maps upgraded for high definition is only a few hours away. And they do look stunning. Some would say even sexy! Our weather producer Chirs has been quietly building programmes and rendering new graphics for weeks in the build up to Skys HD launch.
And you can see the first HD weather graphics on active tonight after 9pm or throughout the night at the top of each hour.
