NewsCorp will move its long time HQ to a new tower in Lower Manhattan to 2 WORLD TRADE CENTER. From certain angles the new building will resemble the former WORLD TRADE CENTER twin towers complex.
Here are some very early renders of the new FOX NEWS CHANNEL HQ. Its unlikely that the sets and such will appear in this way, but they studios might have a glassier appearance. Vanity Fair reports that NewsCorp forced changes to the plans in order for them to sign on as a major tenant.

Such a nice place to be wasted on a channel that spews out so much nonsense, hate, and downplays child abuse. What a terrible shame. Nothing against the Wall Street Journal though.

As much as I don't like Fox News I'm not sure moving into a high profile area is the best idea. I realize physical security is increased at the World Trade Center site but it still would be a high profile target. But this would be good for helping revitalize the area of the city.

Its amazing with so many nutty people running around that Faux News hasnt had many security concerns at their current Ave of The Americas HQ. Doesnt seem smart to me to continue to try and do streetside studios at WTC 2 considering they have such a polarizing viewpoint.
Its obvious that Faux News will retain their radical right slant but I wonder if they will clean up their trashy disjointed messy presentation when they move. Not really a fan.
Also plans are in the works for Time Warner to abandon Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle at some point. I think that at that point Zucker and upper level mgmt will have moved even more parts of CNN HQ away from Atlanta and my personal feelings is they will close CNN Center completely. These big corporations are notorious liars and I frankly dont believe anything Zucker and Co has said in the past about CNN Center remaining in Atlanta.

It's funny they'd select such a high profile site especially considering the boss Roger Ailes is extremely paranoid of his security. He travels with body guards, frequently calls the cops, has a ton of security cameras at his house and his office is bomb proof.

So if something happens to the WTC happens again. Fox News will be off the air? Ignoring the death and destruction, that sounds pretty good.

Come to think of it Roger Aisles probably had very little say in this decision as it sounds like they are moving all their operations to Two WTC. On the bright side security is very tight. I believe the only vehicles that are allowed on site are searched thoroughly far away from the buildings, so that may ease Roger's fears. At the same time I doubt he'll be at the helm of Fox News in six years when the building is expected to be completed as he'll be 81.
