I like Ranvir but her delivery on the national news seems forced, as if she's putting an overtly serious, stern voice on. I can't see why she can't just use the same delivery/tone as she did/does on Daybreak/GMB.

A wee change tonight albeit slightly odd for a regional presenter as Kylie Pentelow is doing the Sunday. Who did the London bulletin as Kylie is at the National desk..

I just don't understand the fast-track for Kylie. She is average at best.

I doubt she'll go further than weekend or bank holiday cover on ITV News. If she's looking to go national, the overnight Sky News bulletin is probably where she'll end up like Philippa Tomson did from ITV Tyne Tees & Border and then go freelance.

I think if a main position opened up (ie if Julie, Mark, Mary or Alistair left), it would be Susanna Reid they'd use.

I don't think there's any fast-track for her. it's probably that she's agreed to work the bank holiday, therefore instead of working Saturday and Monday, they swapped her round with Chris Ship, and he did Saturday, and she's doing Sunday and Monday. Or there might have been another reason for it.

Here's Kylie breaking the news about Lord Attenborough's death on the late bulletin.

From that short clip, I'm not too sure she's quite ready for a higher profile national gig, then again I thought Charlene White was and only recently has she been covering the 6.30 and 10.

God no! Definitely not suitable IMO. Susanna Reid does not have any gravitas at all. Of course it would be Nina Hossain next in line. Charlene, Ranvir also. Charlotte Hawkins would be more likely really.

INSIDER KNOWLEDGE: I've just had the latest rotas faxed through to me, and it appears that Kylie Pentagon is 'fast-tracking' her way through ITV News as *true story* the editor of ITV News is a big fan of Kylie Minogue and is superficial enough to hire people based on name alone. She'll be presenting NaT by this time next week. Meanwhile, it appears that ASO with his 'definite' proclamation that Susanna Reid is not good enough for ITV News is wrong, as Susanna will be fronting the new 'ITV Morning Sunrise Breakfast News at 5:45' when they axe Good Morning Britain.

Or maybe not.

Faxed? Mine come by carrier pigeon... which may explain why the 6:30 next week will in fact be presented by Martyn Lewis and Sue Carpenter.

I thought Ms Pentagon would be co-presenting Monkey Tennis with Ian Axton on Tuesday?
