Why does one have to be recorded? The late BBC One bulletin is broadcast from a small set in the newsroom, whereas Scotland 2015 comes from the main studio.
I've just realised that Scotland 2015 and Reporting Scotland are on at the same time, most obviously one is recorded, but which?

Rep Scot is using the main studio now I believe.
I think the most likely scenario when this was last discussed was that RS would be live, and the first half of the election programme recorded, picking up live at some suitable point.

Re "an election programme", he's referring to the nightly politics programme Scotland 2015.
We looked at the same issue over here in this thread, but no-one has been able to confirm the arrangement. I suspect Scotland 2015 on BBC Two is recorded (or partly recorded) 'as live' so Reporting Scotland can use the main news studio between 22:30 and 22:45.
The bit that confused me was how Scotland 2015 could look ahead to the next day's news if it was recorded much earlier than it aired though. Maybe they no longer have a look at the papers, or perhaps the last 5 mins are live? Who knows?!

It very clear both Reporting Scotland at 22.30 and Scotland 2015 are using the same studio.

Keep being pedantic, but the late bulletin clearly comes from the newsroom Monday to Thursday, you can tell. The lighting isn't quite right, a laptop is clearly visible and there are no wide shots. On a Friday, when Scotland 2015 isn't broadcast they use the main set for the late bulletin. Both are live, both come from different studios and the newsroom...

:I get your point, really should have said when i last saw the late bulletin, which was a few weeks ago. And they were in the newsroom 😂

That must have been a one off, since I keep on seeing the 10.25 from Studio C. remember Unlike the network, the rest come out early and finsh up at 22.38 to go on to their first programme
