Cant seem to find a thread for this, but apologies if I missed something.

New graphics and slightly rejigged titles for Newsnight this evening. Looks very well with the straps now being an all blue version of the ones used on BBC News. Some very minor changes to the set aswell, the desks appear to have red panels now.

It's in the main BBC News pres thread.

Certainly worthy of it's own thread though for people who've no interest in the day to day aspects of BBC News presentation.

So from that thread:

Titles look OK (much better in the stills than the video) - logo is nothing special though and though a nicer interpretation of the standard aston package, not a fan of the "BBC newsnight" graphic at the bottom.

But it keeps it nicely, alined to the rest of BBC News.

Reminds me of something, anyone remember these titles?!

I think the new titles are very tidy and attractive but I still prefer the last ones. They were more, I don't know... dramatic. The set looks awesome though.

With the current package though I wouldn't say that's a good thing.

The current straps are lazy and uninspired; compare them to what they were using up to April 2008.

Although the previous Newsnight astons were bland too, so no great loss but an opportunity missed.

But why does everything have to be "allined"? It just makes everything look bland. I prefered the day's when everything had it's own individual identety.

And, of course, a truly successful BBC News alignment can only be achieved by the inclusion of our 4 sided friend:
