Are avatars enabled?
Sorry, no. They zap bandwidth and everything takes so much longer to
load because of them. They have never been enabled at this website and
there are no plans to do so.
About signatures
You can use a single image in your signature. Include
in the signatures text box on the Profile page. If you do not wish to see
other members' images, you can turn off the feature by going to the
Profile page and selecting No to 'Image in Signature?'. This site will not
host your image.
If you use an image it must be:
- no greater than 300x60 pixels
- preferably is not animated
- hosted on a server which will allow the image to show up at this
website
Text and images in signatures are subject to the same rules as posts as
agreed to with respect to decency, use of member pictures and so forth.
You can have a text signature but keep this four lines or less (including
blank lines).
An automatic checking system is regularly used and will block invalid
signatures.
Are images to enhance my post
allowed?
Absolutely! Many forum members use their TV capture cards and include
images in their post. Feel free to upload a few captures through the
'Upload Image' button when posting or link via your website. Incidentally,
if you include images (or text) from another website, please include the
website URL at the bottom of your post.
What if I see an offensive post?
Although the forums are moderated actively, if you feel there is a post
which is inappropriate or against the terms and conditions, click the
'Report a Post' link at the bottom of their post. (Visitors who are not
logged in should use the Contact Us page)
How do I become a moderator?
Please don't bombard us with request to become a moderator. We're fine
as we are at the moment and generally look across the forum at many
characteristics if we feel we need a new mod. In the meantime, just enjoy
posting!
I don't like your rules!
Then please contact us to remove your account. By registering, you
agree to abide by the rules and by visiting this domain, you agree to the Terms
and Conditions of Use.
The rules are set by the administrator to make this a respectable forum.
Announcements are sometimes made letting you know the rules have been
updated. By posting after this time, you agree to abide by them.
Is there a problem if I can't spell
very well or txt speak?
If you can't spell very well, that's fine but please make your posts as
logical and readable as possible. Font sizes/colours etc.. are available
to you but please use sparsely. No txt speak.
Can I change my username?
You can. Contact the administrator via the Contact Us page or send a
Private Message letting me know your current username and what you want it
to be changed to. This will not be done instantly.
Should I ever give my password out?
No. No moderator or administrator asks for your password. Your
current password cannot be retrieved as it is encrypted in the database.
If the site is abused under your username and you cannot provide proof it
wasn't you, your username will be banned.
I keep receiving spam/junk email -
is this because I signed up to the forum?
Hopefully not. Please be assured no personal information is given out
to third-parties. To minimise chance of receiving spam, go into your
Profile and select No for 'Always show my Email Address?'. People
can still continue you via the Private Messenger to request your email
address genuinely.
Why are there adverts?
TV Forum is a non-profit making site. It's sole aim is to provide a place to talk TV presentation however due to the number of visitors running costs
are significant and the Google advertising helps contribute towards the hosting costs each year.
Who runs this forum?
phpBB created the forum software. Asa
