So sad to hear The TV Room is closing down. I love looking at all the previous tv presentation images. It's what got me interested in tv presentation and encouraged me to start my own site.

Thank you for all your hard work over the years guys, it really has been very much appreciated and will be sadly missed. Crying or Very sad

Sad to hear this place was going, I was looking forward to some of the old context from the Continuity booth getting reloaded to TV room.

I agree, without TV Room I wouldn't have gotten interested in TV Pres.

I think you should share some assets with TV-Ark though.

Sad to hear that The TV Room is closing down, a great website & one of the first I saw when I first went on the internet in 1999/2000. I just hope that some or all of the material on there can find a new home.

All the best to those who were involved & thank you for giving us a great website.

Echoing the previous comments here. I'm very sad to hear that this great site is now on the way out. Likewise, I've been visiting The TV Room for many years now and it's a shame that such a great resource will be closing, joining the likes of the great Round the Regions, Continuity Booth etc. Thanks to Mike and everybody who helped make it what it is and was. It would be great if another website such as TV Ark could "inherit" the wonderful plethora of fantastic still images, although it's probably a bit too early to enquire about what'll happen to the content.

The internet will not be the same without The TV Room. It's so sad to have witnessed the decline of TV Pres websites over the past decade. Ten years ago there were several excellent resources available to the Pres enthusiast but these websites are now few and far between. I echo other members' sentiments regarding YouTube. While it's great to find hundreds of uploads relating to our strange little hobby, it's not as convenient as a dedicated website.

The TV Room was for me one of the first TV Pres websites I visited in 2000 when I got on the web. The other four I thoroughly enjoyed back then were TV Ark, TV World, Round The Regions and, of course, TV Home. It's so sad that only one of these five websites survives. That said, I completely understand Mike's reasons for calling it a day. These are hobby sites after all and shouldn't become a financial burden. Thanks, Mike, for all your efforts; they've been greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to add my thoughts that the presentation arena without The TV Room site will all the poorer. It's been a fantastic resource and interesting place to visit over the last ten years and I've been proud to be involved in the CMS side of things for the last few years. All the best to Mike for the future.

I've already said a few words in private to the guy behind the pages (Yes, we're real people believe it or not! Razz), but just to add to the general consensus here in that I'll be sad to see the site go, and I certainly would be overjoyed if there was an 11th hour change on this, though I can fully appreciate all the reasons behind the decision. I remember way, way back in the dark days of time first speaking to Mike, finding him a friendly and approachable guy, and sending through some bits and pieces of Tyne Tees coverage for the pages on there. To this day I have it down that if I'd ever stumbled across anything from the Flowing/Flowering Rivers era on tape, it'd have gone through to the site to help create a more complete resource of branding!

Its true that the way people consume online media and information has changed drastically these past few years, and it is worth giving credit to Mike for continuing to explore different ways of taking the site throughout that (be it through partnerships with agencies, The TV Room Plus, or trialing more indepth discussions on controversial brand changes), instead of just hopping onto all the generic Web 2.0 bandwagons.

The coverage of pres on the net will definitely be a poorer place without The TV Room there as part of it!
