A new thread about Riz Lateef and her team. What do we think about the BBC London Opt? I hear they'll be moving to Broadcasting House soon. What will change?

Have I not been watching closely enough, or just been watching Spotlight too often?

Asad Ahmad was on BBC London doing breakfast bulletins this morning, not seen him in ages!

I can't remember seeing Asad presenting a bulletin for months. I thought that he'd left.

I always thought it was spelt Rizzla Teef.

Headlines opt in the Ten buggered up again, no thunderclap or bed, headline video image froze, went to black, and we joined the Ten titles half way through, this is becoming a regular occurrence.

There's been a lot of technical cock ups on BBC London recently, I suspect that they're using unfamiliar staff because the normal ones are piloting the new facilities down the road at Broadcasting House.

MHS has been having a few power problems in recent months, I believe.

Why exactly are they moving? I thought having them at MHS was done so that London was separate from the main news?

Is BH ready to to staffed? Blimey that was quick.

Did it end up looking as futuristic as the original architects renders?

They are moving into the Egton Wing of BH, using the empty floors below BBC Arabic and Persian.

The new section of BH which is built where the old BHX and BHXX were has just topped out. Current thinking in World Service is that technical fit out will begin in 2010 with the move out of Bush beginning in 2012. I don't know what the timetable for News moving out of TVC is, but it probably isn't much different.
