So what did everyone think about Dermots appearance on the 6? I cant see any reaction anywahere.
I thought he was OK but personally, I think George is better. Whenever I saw Dermot read a story, it felt like he was still on Breakfast.

I thought he was quite good, better than George IMO. I think George and Fiona should share the Ten O'Clock News. And as someone said previously there should be no set presenters for the Six, therefore a lot of them get an equal chance at presenting.

I notice Huw is having another week off. Maxine Mawhinney, is she back? She's had a good 5 or 6 weeks off.

No she isn't. Shes been off for ages. It was said here a while back that shes freelance and so has to do a set number of shifts each year and so obviously she gets loads of time off. Very Happy

I cant seem to find anyone mentioning the fact that Dermot sits in the 'main' chair, the chair occupied by George, or by Sophie when George is away. I do recall Sian and Bill alternating when they have done it together. This does suggest surely that Dermot is senior to Sian across all bulletins and not just Breakfast.

I think they're trying out a possible change for the Six. Dermot could take over from George and Bill could take over from Dermot on Breakfast. I think there's no other explanation because why don't they have Bill on the Six this week and leave Dermot on his normal Breakfast shift.

Isn't George back out in Africa doing something?

But certainly I think change is in the air. We've had shift changes before but recently we've seen changes in the presentation of the programme. Dermot and Sian alternating the headlines, rather than the 'main' bod doing the first few and the others by the co-host by the big screen.
