From the BBC One Christmas press release.

Quote:
As well as appearing in a brand new adventure, Wallace and Gromit are bringing their very special magic to BBC One's Christmas campaign, featuring in a range of specially produced festive idents.

So it's Wallace and Gromit in the Christmas idents.

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.

The story from the BBC itself, says that it will be Wallace and Gromit in the BBC One Christmas idents.

Hopefully BBC2 will have some new idents this year. As for the BBC One idents, I hope Shaun The Sheep will put in an appearance.

While I wont go into too much discussion in the BBC1 thread, I will say that is appalling. We now haven't had a Christmas whereby at the very least an ident has been re-used either on BBC1 or 2 since 2001, barring 2005. Let's see:

2002 - BBC2 - New ident, but Christmas tree from 2001 recycled.
2003 - BBC1 - Snowflakes recycled/BBC2 - New ident but 2001 and 2002 recyled
2004 - BBC2 - 2001,2002,2003 re-used.
2006 - BBC2 - 2005 re-used
2007 - BBC1 - Penguins but Snowball recyled.

It's worth remembering that Aardman were also responsible for the outstanding 2001 BBC One Christmas idents.
