I was looking at Paramount Comedy's website earlier and from the front page they were promoting that they were showing an ITV Classic, this could only be Minder, from this weekend. I am sure that a repeat of the show is welcomed by viewers. Though I have to say for what is such a good programme it's a shame it doesn't get repeated more often and this happens to many programmes whether they are BBC or ITV.

But what shows would you like repeated? As there are probably many so to start off here's what I would like to see repeated: (In no random order)

The Krypton Factor, Rab C Nesbitt, Desmonds, Brookside, TV Offal, Blockbusters, Catchphrase (Roy Walker version) and Going For Gold.

How about The Brittas Empire? Ran for many series but hasn't had a repeat. Then again, thinking back it may not actually have been much good. I was only a young 'un at the time.

Doctor Who should be repeated on terrestrial telly. They did repeat Blake's 7 on BBC2 on Saturday afternoons a couple of years ago - but there should be more of this kind of thing.

As for Catchphrase - "It's good, but it's not right!", to quote the man himself.

.

Well if it's good enough to be released on DVD, it's good enough for a repeat. So wait for sales to reach their peak before they repeat it.

I always say Lovejoy and Bergerac in these threads.

And as for getting Desmonds repeated.... good luck!

I think it's high time You Rang M'Lord was repeated. AFAIK, it has NEVER been repeated on BBC TV since it ended in 1993. And despite being a prime candidate for UK Gold reruns, it bizarrely has only ever appeared on UK Drama (which it's not really suitable for, it can be charitably called a comedy drama, but it's really a sitcom) and even then it hasn't been seen for some 18 months.

Does anyone know why it is being swept under the carpet so much? AFAIK it was a very succesful series, using a lot of Hi-De-Hi and IAHHM actors (which ARE repeated ad nausem), and when all the other succesful comedies of the 80's such as OFAH, Blackadder, Allo Allo et al are all repeated regularly, I don't see why You Rang M'Lord isn't.

Actually it has been repeated. UK Gold showed about 2 yrs ago. More recently, it's been repeated on G-PLUS.

I'd quite like to see the Tub of Lard episode from Have I Got News For You repeated, side-achingly funny, especially as Paul Merton won despite having the Tub of Lard as his team partner!

The Brittas Empire wasn't remotley funny, but for some bizzare reason the BBC kept commisioning it. It ran for what seemed like 18 series. The BBC do this alot with unfunny comedies. My Hero is a example. Why does it keep comming back? It would be more at home on CITV. It's a daft childish premise with woeful jokes.

What I would like to see repeated is Prime Suspect 6 as I missed it! Why is it not on ITV2? They repeat everything else.

Well, actually, the Brittas Empire was extremely popular in its day and that is why it was recommissioned. You clearly didn't find it funny... but many others did! Perhaps that's the case with My Hero, with actually IS quite popular.

Prime Suspect on the other hand is not funny.

True. The above post was my opinion, and not a statment of fact as I made it sound. To me My Hero is scrapping the bottom of the barrell comedy wise, but like you say someone must be watching it (and these people are allowed to drive cars!)
