To really establish the fact they had football league highlights it had to have it's own branding, both sensible and possibly a contract requirement from the football league and it makes sense for all live football to come under the 'Match of The Day Live' brand rather than something 'The Football League Show Live'. I do however think they should use the MOTD brand for the Carling Cup and give live football league games the MOTD music. I don't know the exact answer though.
